Even though I have always read a lot, and I try to keep up on what is out there, I still find books and authors I am unfamiliar with. Since becoming a book blogger a couple of years ago, I have come across new to me authors that have older series I missed that sound really good. So this summer I am on a quest to read at least a couple of them. But I need your help to decide which ones. I am going to list 4 choices and then there is a poll at the end for you to vote and let me know which one I should read.
The Unwind Series by Neal Schusterman.
Someone gave me a copy of the first book awhile ago and I bought the second one. Except for Scythe and Challenger Deep, I haven’t read any of his other books, I don’t think. This one sounds really interesting and something I would like. Plus those covers are really spooky and intriguing.
Shades of Magic Series by V.E. Schwab
I have all three of these books and I have read the first one, and really liked it, but never got to the other two. I would probably reread the first one again before moving on. I have heard nothing but good things about this series, and I loved her Monsters of Verity books. I have also heard that the Villains series is excellent.
Reboot Series by Amy Tinturra
I just finished her Ruined series and even though I was slightly disappointed in the series ending, I am willing to give her another try. This one sounds interesting and I have been more in a science fiction mood lately rather than fantasy.
Firebird Series by Claudia Gray
This one is all about the covers! I love them! But the story also sounds really good. I have been enjoying her Constellation series so I am interested in seeing if I like her other books. I have always had a fascination with alternate worlds too, which is what this series is all about. Plus a murder mystery and a revenge plot. Sounds good to me.
Poll
I would really appreciate the help in choosing which of these series to devote some reading time to this summer. Please take the poll and leave a comment, especially if there is another series that you think I might like.
Thanks for the help. I will let you know the results in a couple of days.
I haven’t read any of these so don’t feel I can vote – however they all sound worth a read so I’ll be interested to see which one wins!

They do all sound so good which is why I’m having trouble deciding. Thanks for reading and commenting.

I haven’t read any of these so I probably shouldn’t have voted, but I voted for the Shades of Magic Series because you have already read the first one! Also I have heard lots of good things about that series!
I always have to re-read the first books in the series if too much time has passed, otherwise I feel like I am going to miss things.
The covers on the Firebird Series are amazing! I almost voted for them just for the covers 😀
Good luck with whichever you end up reading!

I was a little bit worried that people wouldn’t vote because they hadn’t read them. Thanks for voting. I agree, I will reread a book I’ve really enjoyed before the next one comes out, I like to have it fresh in my memory.

I have only finished the Shades of Magic series from your list, but it’s one of my favorite series. I love Schwab’s world-building. I still think about the opening of A Darker Shade of Magic. Definitely ranks high on favorite opening lines. Hope whichever you choose is amazing!

Thanks, I’ve been leaning towards the Shades series and so far that has been others opinion as well. I really liked the first one, so I’m sure the rest will come along as well.
