Well March was an interesting month! Lots of long books, and a couple of duds. Oh well, every read can’t be the best ever. That would get boring after awhile. But I am hoping April will be better in that respect.
I did still manage to read 15 books though. And the best thing is that I read all of the books that I listed on my March TBR! Not sure that has happened before!
Let’s take a quick look at all the books I read in March. I have listed them in the order I read them.
Don’t Tell a Soul was an interesting twist on ghosts stories. It was good, but wasn’t as scary as it could have been.
This Will be Funny Someday wasn’t as funny as I thought it would be, but it did have its moments. I really liked the characters and the story was good too.
Pride and Premeditation was a fun reimagining of the Jane Austin classic. In this one, Lizzie is an aspiring barrister and tries to prove herself by solving a murder. It was fun and clever.
Knight’s Shadow is the second book in the Greatcoats series. This one was a bit intense and somewhat more violent than the first. But I still enjoyed it, especially the witty banter between the characters.
The Anti-Book was a fun middle grade read that takes on tween angst in an interesting way.
King of Scars is one of the really long books I read this month. It was good, but a bit of a slow read at times. Hopefully I will be getting the next book soon from the library.
Girl, 11 was an interesting read. I liked the podcast aspect and the serial killer was an interesting one. Could have used a bit more suspense and the whole thing was easy to figure out.
Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic is the second book in the Dowser series. Love the baking references and lots of snark and fun characters.
Bridge of Souls is the newest and I think the last book in the Cassidy Blake series. It was a lot of fun and I loved the New Orleans setting.
Fugitive Telemetry was awesome and I think my favorite of the month. I just can’t get enough of Murderbot! I might just have to reread all of them sometime soon. They are so much fun!
The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating was unfortunately very disappointing. I just didn’t really ever connect to the characters or feel their romance worked.
Covet was also a favorite this month, although it was a bit long. Also the ending was a bit much as well. But loved the new characters and can’t wait to see how it all wraps up when the last book comes out in September.
Lycanthropy and Other Chronic Illnesses was a sweet book about friendship and chronic illness. I loved the characters and even though it could have been really scary at times, it ended up being just the right amount of horror.
Saint’s Blood is the third book in the Greatcoats series and was really good. They take on religion in this one and there were some interesting discussions as well as a lot of swashbuckling.
Dead Lions was just as good as the first book in this series. This one involved Russian sleeper cells and really keeps you guessing up to the very end.
Well that is the end of my reading month. Nothing spectacular but that is ok. I am looking forward to April and hopefully some really good reads.
