Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

This is probably my second favorite post of the week to create and to read. I love seeing and reading about what other people are adding to their stacks each week.

It has been a couple of weeks since I last did one of these posts. I just hadn’t been getting any new books the past couple of weeks, and I had other things to talk about on the typical day I would be posting. But the good news is, that my library is reopening today, so while I don’t plan on going today, I do have a couple of books on hold that I need to pick up soon. It will be nice to browse my familiar library, but I might also continue to visit others just for fun.

This week I did visit one of the libraries nearby to pick up two books I needed for my challenges. I also had almost all of the audiobooks that I had on hold come all at once. I’m pretty fast with my audiobooks, but not that fast! I did defer a couple for later, but I’ll highlight the ones that are currently loaded on my Libby app. Finally, I did purchase a book this week.

Books I have added to my bedside stack

Right Here, Right Now is a book I plan to read for my Buzzword Challenge over on StoryGraph. The prompt was for repeating words in the title, so this fit perfectly. It is a YA science fiction romance that sounds interesting.

I Know Who You Are is for my Nonfiction reading challenge. This one is about how they used DNA to catch the Golden State Killer. This is one of the first cold cases that they used this technique to solve.

Relight My Fire is a book I finally purchased. I have been asking and asking my library to purchase a copy with no luck, so I finally broke down and bought an ebook copy. I hope to get to it this month, but we shall see.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Remember Me Tomorrow is a YA mystery thriller that I just couldn’t pass up the chance to read. It doesn’t come out till October, but I might get to it sooner if I can.

Monstrous Nights is the second book in the Witch’s Compendium of Monsters series. I read the first book, Foul Days, last month and loved it. When I saw that the second book was coming out in the fall I immediately requested it on NetGalley. Another one I might have to read as soon as I can.

The Naming Song has a somewhat creepy cover, yet it is also gorgeous. This was a book I found through the publishers newsletter and I just couldn’t resist getting it. It sounds like a wonderful book all about the danger of words and naming things.

Audiobooks

The Last Murder at the End of the World has been getting some mixed reviews lately, but I did enjoy this author’s other books, so I am pretty sure I will enjoy this one as well.

Dreadful just sounds like such a cozy and cute romantasy that I just had to add it to my holds. I am hoping that it will be just as funny as Assistant to the Villain was last year.

Heavenbreaker has such a wonderful cover that I couldn’t resist. The author is localish (Oregon) and I have read one other of her books which I liked enough to give her another chance. This is a science fiction revenge story with a side of romance that sounds interesting.

Lots of good books this week. I better stop writing and go read so that I can get through them all. I still have a couple from a few weeks ago that I haven’t gotten to, so I need to catch up. I hope that you are all doing well and having a good reading week. Let me know what books you have added to your stack this week. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. Relight My Fire looks awesome, the cover really captured my attention. Is this the type of mystery series that can be read out of order? Otherwise I’ve added the first one to my tbr, sounds fun! I currently have the Last Murder at the End of the World out from my library but I’m afraid I won’t get to start it before the time runs out 😂
