3 Quotes, 3 Days

Day 2

Yesterday I posted a quote from an old book I had read, so I decided today’s should be from a book I just finished.  Thanks again to Lizzie at Stellar Kitten Book Reviews for the tag.

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
  • Nominate three new bloggers each day.

Today’s quote comes from Defy The Worlds by Claudia Gray.

“Noemi sits up and touches his arm.  No doubt she’s only checking his injury, but the contact rushed through Abel like heat or electricity.  It’s not yet desire, but it could be.  Do humans feel attraction at such inconvenient moments?  Surely not.  This must be some kind of malfunction.  Unlike any other malfunction, though, Abel enjoys it.”

For those of you not familiar with the story, Abel is an AI who has developed a ‘soul’.  It’s nice to know that even teenage AI boys can have those feelings at inconvenient moments.

Summary from Goodreads:

Defy the worldsAn outcast from her home — Shunned after a trip through the galaxy with Abel, the most advanced cybernetic man ever created, Noemi Vidal dreams of traveling through the stars one more time. And when a deadly plague arrives on Genesis, Noemi gets her chance. As the only soldier to have ever left the planet, it will be up to her to save its people…if only she wasn’t flying straight into a trap.

A fugitive from his fate — On the run to avoid his depraved creator’s clutches, Abel believes he’s said good-bye to Noemi for the last time. After all, the entire universe stands between them…or so he thinks. When word reaches him of Noemi’s capture by the very person he’s trying to escape, Abel knows he must go to her, no matter the cost.

But capturing Noemi was only part of Burton Mansfield’s master plan. In a race against time, Abel and Noemi will come together once more to discover a secret that could save the known worlds, or destroy them all.

Nomination time!  If you have already done it don’t feel obligated to do this again, or even if you don’t want to do it that is fine with me.
