I was really struggling with what to post today. My energy has been pretty low lately and I just couldn’t seem to muster up the brain power to do a review or a long book tag. But low and behold I saw this tag not once but twice this morning, and I took that as a sign that I should get this one done asap. I first saw this on Booksare42 and then on Wicked Witch’s Blog. It was originally created by Tanya from girlxoxo. This is a fairly short and easy one, so if you are looking for a quick post consider yourself tagged.
First Book Read This Year

The Stolen Heir was the first book I both started and finished in 2023. (There were a couple that I started in 2022 but finished the first couple of days in 2023, but I decided they didn’t count. ) I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the next one.
First Review of the Year

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone was a pretty funny book and the title does not lie! I can’t wait to read the sequel which comes out this fall.
First Debut Author I Read This Year

I think One Dark Window was the first debut I read this year. I am really bad at keeping track of debuts. I really should keep a list. I really enjoyed this one and have requested the second book from Netgalley, but haven’t been approved yet. Fingers crossed!
First New To Me Author I Read This Year

I’m cheating a little on this one. Peter May was not the first new to me author this year, but he was the one whose book, A Winter Grave made me want to read all of his books. I just love his writing and his stories.
First Book That Slayed Me

I’m never sure how to interpret prompts like this, so I decided to go with whatever book was my first 5 star read. The Last Thing He Told Me was an amazing read that was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat!
First Book That I Wished I Could Get Back The Time I Spent Reading it!

There were a couple of other books that I read earlier in the year that could have qualified for this one, but I chose Hestia Strikes A Match because I kept thinking to myself the whole time I read it, that I really should just stop and not finish it. But I never listened to that inner voice and I kind of regret that.

This was fun and pretty fast. The only prompt that took awhile was the debut one. I really need to keep track of those. So many tags have that as a prompt.
I definitely agree about noting debut novels. It does crop up a lot. Whether I will remember to do it is a different thing entirely!
