A review for the fourth book in The Unorthodox Chronicles by James J. Butcher. Grim Folk Tale is a dark urban fantasy which is set in Boston. There are some wonderfully evil creatures that lurk below the city and the two main characters, each struggling with their own pasts, work great together to combat that evil.
A review for the fifth book in the Adam Binder series by David R Slayton. Backwoods Banshee is a gripping story about grief, recovery and off course some scary banshees. This is a wonderful urban fantasy series that I highly recommend. If you haven’t started it yet, now would be a great time.
The end of the year is creeping up fast and there are still so many books to read! I am putting a bit of a dent in my ever growing pile this month with a fun TBR list. Lots of good books this month, four ARCs and four books I have chosen for my challenges. All of them look promising.
A review for the first book in a new YA duology by one of my favorite authors Marie Lu. Mortal Things is an exploration of belonging and finding your place in the world. It is an urban fantasy with gods and human harbingers that keep them connected to the mortal world.
A review for the second book in the cozy holiday series, Kiss, Merry, Kill by Ally Carter. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder is a fun and fast paced cozy mystery romance with a great cast of characters and a very romantic setting.
A review for the second book in the Spy and Guardian duology by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis. The Blood Queen is a fast paced historical fantasy featuring two marvelous main characters who fall in love despite who they are. This is a wonderful ending to this fantastical duology set in the time of Queen Elizabeth and Scotland’s Queen Mary.
