My October 2023 TBR

The end of the year is slowly creeping up and I am sure the next three months will be going by in the blink of an eye. I really like fall, I love the cool crisp days and the long dark nights. It also tends to rain a lot here, which means staying indoors and cuddling up to the fire with a good book.

I have some good reads coming up this month, although strangely none of them are scary reads. I’m not that big of a mood reader, but I do like to have something scary to read around Halloween. I will have to keep my eye out for something the next time I go to the library.

I barely managed to read my TBR for September, so I decided to tone it down a bit this month and go back to eight books. Hopefully I won’t have a barrage of books that are on hold show up all at once this month!

ARC’s I need to read:

The Darcy Myth is a nonfiction book that reconsiders our societies myth of the brooding hero. It should make for an interesting read.

System Collapse is the next book in the Murderbot series and I am so excited to read it. I just love this series and can’t wait to see what Murderbot gets up to in this one.

Calamity is a science fiction fantasy that sounded really good. It also has a found family, an enemies to lovers trope and it takes place in space! Sounds perfect to me.

Her Dark Wings is the only ARC I need to read for December. I really like the author’s other books, so I am looking forward to her take on the Persephone myth.

Other books I plan on reading

Broken Souls is the last book from my huge library haul in September. I had to keep putting off reading it, but now that things have slowed down a bit, I will get to it next.

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon is another one of those supernatural romances. These can be kind of hit or miss for me, but I like the premise of this one so I decided to give it a chance.

Going Zero is a book I have been wanting to read for a while now and my hold finally came through.

The Other Passenger is an audiobook that I will definitely be listening to in October. Another mystery thriller that sounds really good.

I am looking forward to reading all of these books and hopefully many others as well. I am pretty close to finishing and exceeding my GoodReads goal this year, so I am excited about that. I hope you all have wonderful books to read this month and if any of you have some good spooky reads for me to add to my list this month let me know in the comments. Until next time….

Happy Reading!
