The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What have you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Last week ended up being a bit crazy! Just super busy with other projects so I am afraid that my blog was the last thing on the list and I never made it there. I hope to do better this week. I did manage to finish quite a number of books which was amazing. Most of them quite good.

The last couple of months I was struggling with all of my library book holds coming at once, and while that has thankfully stopped for now, it is the audiobooks that are now showing up en masse. I had all but one show up as available this week. Luckily, with the Libby app, I was able to delay two of them for a couple of weeks, which allows me time to finish the two I have downloaded.

I only need two more books to finish my Goodreads Challenge which is exciting. I might even make it to 200 books again this year. That would be wonderful, but I won’t push it. If it is meant to be it will happen.

What am I currently reading?

After She Wrote Him starts off a little bit weird, but once you get into it you see how brilliant it really is.

The Hexologists is such a fun book! I am really enjoying listening to this one. I love the characters and the world and the story is pretty good too. I am almost done with this one and expect to finish it today. So with that in mind I decided to include the next audiobook I’m picking up.

Champion of Fate will be the audiobook I pick up next and that will probably be today or tomorrow. I have always liked this author’s books so I am looking forward to reading this one.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Kaiju Preservation Society was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. It was funny, I loved the world building and the plot was well done. Highly recommend this one.

Curious Tides was good, but it took me forever to finish it. I think what it finally came down to with me, was the world building overtook all other aspects of the story. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing world building, but the story and the characters kind of got lost in all of that. It also made the pacing for me quite slow. But I could see what others see in this and why they love it.

A Study in Drowning also had amazing world building. And it did a better job with the pacing, but something was still slightly off for me. I think the story was just too similar to Curious Tides and I kept getting them mixed up. But I would still recommend this one.

The Measure was a really thought provoking book and one that I am still thinking about. I loved all of the characters and really felt for them and their decisions.

Light Years From Home was also really good and very heartwarming. It was nice to read about a family that had grown so far apart, come together and save each other and the universe.

What will I read next?

In a Dark, Dark Wood or The Accomplice will be the next book I read. It will depend on my mood. They both look really good. Or I just might pick something else up entirely.

Sword Catcher will be my next audiobook. I also have a hard copy of this book so I might switch back and forth between them to get it done a bit faster. It is such a long book.

I keep think that November is all but done, but there is still about a week to go. I think the fact that Thanksgiving is early this year is making me feel this way. Well, that at least helps with the Christmas shopping, which I have yet to get started on. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
