My December 2023 TBR

It is the last month of 2023 and I am really looking forward to it. Not that I want the year to end necessarily, but I have a lot of good books lined up and I can’t wait to get started on them.

I managed to read all of the books on my November TBR, which was a good thing because there was a time when I didn’t think it was going to happen. I also managed to complete my Goodreads goal this month, which was a great thing! I wasn’t too worried about making the goal this year, but it is nice to have that off my plate. I also have completed a couple of year long challenges this month which I will be posting about in the next few weeks.

December means it is time to start reading e-ARCs for 2024 and I am super excited to finally get started on those. I have six for the month of January, but I have already finished one, so only five will show up on this list. I also have four other books picked out to get done this month.

ARCs I need to read this month

A Drop of Venom is a new YA from the Rick Riordan imprint. He talked about this during the presentation I saw a couple of months ago and it sounded really good, so when I saw it on Netgalley I just had to snap it up. It is a retelling of the Medusa myth.

The Clinic is a mystery, horror thriller that also sounded really good. It will be a good one to spend a cold winter day with. It also takes place in the Pacific Northwest.

The City of Stardust is a science fiction fantasy that I basically picked because of it’s cover. It is just gorgeous! The blurb sounds good too and it will be my first debut book for 2024.

Twenty Seven Minutes is another mystery thriller that just sounded really good to me. It is also a debut. This one revolves around small town secrets and supposedly has a shocking twist.

Everyone on This Train is a Suspect will hopefully end the month on a comedic high note. I loved the first Ernest Cunningham book so I am pretty sure this one will be just as good.

Other books I plan on reading

Love Will Tear Us Apart is a book that I have been wanting to read since it came out in February. My library finally got a copy and I hope to be picking it up this week.

Pushed is a nonfiction book about an incident that happened here in Washington State in 1875. It sounds interesting and horrifying at the same time.

A Second Chance is the third book in the Chronicles of St. Mary’s series and I am looking forward to finally getting around to this one.

Sword Catcher will also be on the list this month. I am going to be doing both the audiobook and reading it at the same time. Hopefully that will get me through it faster.

Nine books seems like a lot even though I usually average around 15 books each month. I think it is because I usually only have 8 books on my official TBR so I have more wiggle room to read other things I really want to read. I all depends on your perspective doesn’t it?

Until next time…

Happy Reading!
