At some point during the year, in the Spring I think, I ran across this year-long scavenger hunt over on Birdie’s Book Nook, and thought it would be a lot of fun. It certainly was. I got stumped a few times, and I may have interpreted prompts a bit differently but I had a lot of fun with it. Here is the blurb from her website explaining the rules:
What’s the Year-Long Scavenger Hunt, you ask? Well, it’s basically a bingo, but with a few differences. There are 31 prompts for the entire year — January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. You can choose to read 31 books where each book fits a different prompt or you can choose to find books that fit multiple prompts. The more times over you complete the entire Hunt, the cooler you are. And don’t we all want to be super cool???
Few things:
- Rereads count as long as you read the book within the year of 2023.
- You don’t have to do this with Sci-fi/Fantasy books, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be easier if you do.
- There’s no one here to slap your wrist if you do something ‘wrong’. Have fun with this!
I put a couple of other restraints on myself, I tried to have at least one book released in 2023 for each prompt, and I wanted to be super cool so I completed the list three times. I am so super cool. Book Titles are linked to either my reviews or their Goodreads pages. Enjoy!
2023 Release
I read something like 80 books that were released in 2023, so it was hard to narrow that down to three, but I consoled myself that most of them would show up on this list somewhere else.

Thanks for sticking it out and making it to the end. This was a long list of books. This is probably the only review of the 2023 books that I read as this took a lot of time to put together and it pretty much covers all of the books that I loved. I haven’t seen a list for next year yet, but hopefully that will come out soon. I hope that you had a great reading year and look forward to seeing what you all read in 2024! Until next time…
This is so fun! Congrats on completing it!

I might have fudged a little with some of them, but it was a bit of a challenge to find three for all of them.
