The first quarter of the year is over, so I thought it would be a good time to see how I’m doing on my challenges for the year. So far I am keeping up with all of them, which I am pretty proud of. I tend to not do challenges because I don’t really need a reason to read, but I also tend to forget about them too. But so far this year I have been pretty good about checking in at the start of each month to see what prompts I need to find books for and then get them read at some point in the month. So hopefully I will be able to keep that up as the year progresses.
Buzzword Reading Challenge
This is a challenge I found out about after I did my post in January about what challenges I wanted to do this year. It is being hosted by booksandlala and you can keep track of the books you read on the story graph which is lots of fun.

January’s Prompt: Books with Their/There or They’re in the title
And Then There Were None: I have never read an Agatha Christie by I really enjoyed this one.
February’ Prompt: Kind Words
A Quantum Love Story: This was a great take on time travel that also had a sweet romance.
March’s Prompt: Character Names in Title
The Reappearance of Rachel Price was quite the twisty tale with a surprise ending.
Epic Reading Challenge
The Epic Reading Challenge is meant for Teens, but I am having fun with it. So far all of the books I’ve read for it have been wonderful!

January: First book in a series.
The Tainted Cup was a wonderful start to a new series. I can’t wait to see where it is going.
February: Book with Multiple Points of view
Holmes Marple & Poe fit perfectly into this prompt. Lots of fun characters and a great set of mysteries.
March: A book that has been made into a movie or TV show.
This was a tough one as I have read many books that have been turned into a movie or tv adaptation. I was able to squeeze Poor Things in at the end of the month. I haven’t watched the movie yet, but I hope to soon.
NonFiction reading Challenge
I am doing surprisingly well with this challenge so far this year. Seeing as I am not a huge nonfiction reader, getting three books in so far is pretty amazing for me.

The League of Lady Poisoners was a very interesting look at why women poison and some famous women who committed some pretty awful crimes.
Close to Shore was also a fascinating look at the first recorded shark attack on US soil in the first part of the twentieth century.
The Thefts of the Mona Lisa was also a very interesting look at the history of a famous painting.
Picture of the Month Challenge
This is a non reading challenge that I am taking part in. It has been a lot of fun and I am looking forward to trying to get a bingo in the next few months.

January: This is an art installment at my local library that I always enjoy reading whenever I go.
February: My local mall went big time of the decorations for Lunar New Year. I loved all of the dragons hanging from the ceilings and so many lanterns and other decorations!
March: Every year thousands of people come to the University of Washington’s campus to admire and hang out with these beautiful cherry trees.

I already have my books picked out for April for all of my reading challenges. I’m still deciding what picture I want to take for my photo bingo challenge, but I have plenty of time to decide on that. So we are good there. I am having fun with all of these challenges and I hope that you are all enjoying any challenges you have decided to participate in this year. Until next time….
Well done on staying on track with your challenges. I haven’t updated mine but I think I’m doing OK on some and really badly on at least one.

I almost missed the Epic one this month, mostly because I couldn’t find a book I wanted to read for the prompt!
