Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your weekend and find lots of time to read. It is a beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest, and my plan is to make the most of it. Although I also hope to find time for reading.
This week’s stack is a bit on the mixed side. I have a NetGalley book, a library book and a book that I received as a gift to share with you. I am excited about all of them.
Books I have added to my bedside stack

The Backyard Bird Chronicles is a gift that I received from my son. This is a nonfiction book that is simply about the birds that the author encounters in her backyard. It is full of drawings that the author created. This is a book that I will probably read in small doses so that I can savor all of the little pictures and stories.
Buried Deep and Other Stories is a little gem I found on NetGalley this week. It is a collection of short stories that spans all of the different worlds that this author has created. There is also one story that is suppose to give a hint on her next novel. How could I not request this one! This one is out in September.
I have only just started on the rich and plentiful novels written by Agatha Christie. I know it is hard to believe that I have not read her books before, but somehow I just never picked them up. I have been visiting other libraries in the area, since mine is mostly closed, and I found The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories sitting on the shelf in the one I visited this week. I thought a collection of short stories, some of which feature her various detectives, might be a could way to introduce myself to her body of work.

A small but satisfying haul this week. My library will reopen next week, which I am looking forward to. I have enjoyed visiting new libraries, but I will be happy to browse again in my familiar place. Although I do think I might continue to visit other branches just for the variety and something new to do. Until next time…
