Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

It has been a couple of weeks I think since I last did one of these posts. Just haven’t had the time or need to go to the library or look around on Netgalley for books. But I took my niece and her son to the library this week which was fun. It has been a long time since I went to the library with a young child! I was only going to pick up one book on this visit, because I am busy with family this next week and probably won’t have much time for reading, but I of course found some more that just begged me to take them home. I also added one ARC that I am super excited about!

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Maidens was the only book I was planning on taking home with me. I loved The Fury earlier this year and have been wanting to read another book by this author. This one was available, so it came home with me.

I was looking for a book by another author whose name was similar to Finn, and End of Story caught my eye. I think I saw a review or two at the start of the year when this one came out and had it on my list, but it was just sitting there on the shelf waiting for me. The book I was looking for was gone, so this was a good substitute.

I saw the second book in the Mossa and Pleiti series and picked it up because it had a cool cover, discovered it was the second book and so had to see if the first book was available, and it was. The Mimicking of Known Successes is a cozy mystery which doesn’t always work for me, but this one takes place in space, so I thought why not give it a chance?

Monsters We Have Made was a book hanging out on the new book shelf. I love that cover and title and it sounds rather interesting, so I brought it home to give it a try.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I had this one on my TBR list as soon as it was announced. I love this author and was super excited to get an offer to read the ARC! The Thirteenth Child is the retelling of the Grimm’s Fairy tale, Godfather of Death. It sounds wonderful and just check out that cover! Awesome!

That’s it for this week’s edition of Stacking the Shelves. I hope you enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing what others have added to their shelves. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
