A 2025 Challenge Update! March 2025

We are a quarter of the way through the year and it is time to update you all about how my challenges are going. I am glad to report that I am doing well so far, though the Cover challenge is proving to be harder than I thought it would be. There are also a few in the 52 Book Club’s Challenge that are proving to be difficult as well.

If the book title has an asterisk (*) before it, that means it is linked to my review. If not, then it is linked to its Goodreads page.

Buzzword Cover Challenge

January’s prompt: A cover featuring a pattern

*A Captured Cauldron has such a nice cover and lots of repeated patterns. I really have been enjoying this cozy fantasy series.

February’s Prompt: A cover featuring a skyline

*Holmes is Missing has a great skyline in the background of NYC. It is also a really good mystery thriller series that I have been enjoying.

March’ prompt: a cover featuring books

The Lost Bookshop not only has books on the cover, but it is all about a mysterious and magical bookstore.

NonFiction reading Challenge

There are no monthly prompts for this challenge, but I am trying to read at least one nonfiction book every month. I am also trying to branch out a bit into other areas of nonfiction. You can learn about the challenge here.

*A Brief Atlas of the Lighthouses at the End of the World is my favorite nonfiction so far this year. I really enjoyed learning about the various lighthouses and their stories.

*The Big Redhead Book was a book that I wished I had read as a teenager. I had no idea there was so much to learn about my hair color.

*Loch Ness Uncovered was interesting, but a little on the dry side. But I did learn a bit more than I did about how the Loch Ness monster legend came about.

52 Book Club’s Challenge

Because there are so many prompts and as you can see I have completed most of them, I’m not going to list them all here. I will probably do a post in the fall when I finish them. (One prompt is for a book I read in a month with a ‘ber’ in it, so yeah have to wait for the fall to complete it.) Pretty much all of the books I have read so far this year have found a spot on the list. But it is an ever changing list, as I find books that fit the prompts better. There are a few that I am finding really challenging too, so it might be a few months before I get to some of those. Getting the easy ones out of the way first. If you want to see the prompts check out the 52 book club’s announcement of the challenge here.

Picture of the Month Challenge

This has nothing to do with books, but I enjoy taking pictures and this is a fun way to share them. The picture challenge is pretty simple: there is a bingo board with prompts, that I then take a picture for. These are the three that I have done so far. You can go to the posts about the pictures by clicking on the picture headings. You can learn about the challenge here.

This is how all of my challenges stand. They, for the most part, are all kinds of challenging in their own ways. I think I am finding them much harder than last year’s challenges too. Or maybe I’m being too picky. I hope you are all doing well on your challenges for the year. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
