Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!
In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.
The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.
It was a very quiet week as far as adding books to my stack. I wasn’t sure until maybe yesterday that I was even going to have anything to write about this week. But then I went looking on Netgalley for some books that might fit some of my challenges and found 3 books to add to my rather long ARC list. But I am glad I found them and I’m looking forward to reading them. I also added two library books, one of which is an audiobook.
Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Mal Goes to War is a backlist book by Edward Ashton. I thought I had read all of his books but somehow missed this one and another one I think. This one is about a free AI, named Mal, who finds himself protecting a young girl while the humans are fighting a war. I love that cover and I am sure the book will be a good one.
ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Gimme Shelter is the second book in the Layla Virtue series. I really enjoyed the first book, Vice and Virtue last year, so I just had to request this one. This is a fun cozy mystery, featuring an ex cop and former alcoholic as the ‘detective’ who is also a musician. This comes out at the end of April.
The Silent Paths of Night is also a second book in a series by a favorite author. I just love his Adam Binder series which is an urban fantasy. This is a more of a high fantasy with gods and knights and a quest. I will be reading the first book, Dark Moon, Shallow Sea in the next few weeks as this one comes out in early June.
Moss’d in Space caught my eye because of that cover. And then I was hooked when they mentioned a sentient moss computer, which I just couldn’t pass up. It sounds hilarious and it hopefully will fit into one of my Speccy Challenge prompts. This comes out in July.
Audiobooks

Busted is a middle grade book by one of my favorite local authors. This one is about a young boy and his grandfather who are being threatened with eviction from their home. They are given a chance to find a hidden treasure and embark on an adventure. I’m sure it will be hilarious and a really fun read.

That is it for this week’s stacking the shelves. I think it is a pretty good haul and I am excited to read all of them. What have you added to your stack this week? Until next time….
A Sentient Moss Computer??????? I definitely need to go and look that one up. Enjoy reading all of these.
