Two audiobook reviews for you today. One fantasy and one mystery, very different from each other. Faebound by Saara El-Arifi was a very interesting story about fae and elves. The narrator didn’t quite work for me, but I enjoyed the story. Death Under a Little Sky by Stig Abell was a slow moving mystery that was also a really good listen.
A review for the audiobook version of Ruth Ware’s One Perfect Couple. This survival thriller is set on a remote island in the Indian Ocean when a reality TV show goes horribly wrong after a storm. The audiobook narrator does a solid job bringing the story and the characters to life.
Today I am going to talk about two excellent audiobooks that I listened to recently. These were both rereads so these reviews won’t be about the books, but more about the readers and how well they captured the characters in the books. A review for the audiobook version of the fourth book in the Saint of Steel series by T. Kingfisher. An enjoyable story and romance between two characters that you wouldn’t think would work together, but they do.
A review for the audiobook version of Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer. This second installment in this cozy romantasy is just as much fun as the first book. Evie and Trystan are back and getting themselves involved in more shenanigans with the help of their friends.
A review for the very funny cozy fantasy, Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The story had everything I look for in a cozy fantasy, a great cast of characters, hilarious hijinks and a villain that really has the heart of a hero. It was hard to believe that this was a debut, it was so well done.
