Books I want to see made into TV shows.
This is hopefully the last week where I will be making up my own topics or scouring the group’s past topics to come up with something. While it was fun coming up with my own topics, it was also kind of hard. I have a new appreciation for the people who run this group. They always come up with great topics.
My topic this week comes from the archives. I have been binge watching Dexter the last couple of weeks and have been loving it. I have never read the books, but it really makes me want to pick them up.
How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather
As I was listening to these two books, I was thinking that they would make an awesome TV show. I loved the relationships that develop between Samantha and the descendants and you can’t go wrong with a ghost boyfriend. It would be easy to expand into other historical tragedies as well.
Peter Grant Series by Ben Aaronovitch
I watch a lot of British police procedurals and have really enjoyed them. I think this would be a nice addition and would bring in those fantasy lovers as well.
The Stormheart Series by Cora Carmack
This might have to be more of a miniseries than a long standing one. It might be hard to maintain the visual effects budget for this show. But wouldn’t they be awesome!
The Shadow Game Series by Amanda Foody
The world this series is set in is just made for television. And there is so much more that could be explored. A nice blend of gangsters and magic. I can just see it now.
Life1ik3 by Jay Kristoff
I had to throw in at least one science fiction story and this is it. Again I am picking more for the world than the actual story. I think this world is so rich and there is so much going on that it would make one hell of a series. It would even be cool if they did it low budget like Mad Max, that actually might make it better.
I have no idea if any of these are even in the works as TV shows. But hopefully one of them at least will make it to the screen.
