First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!
Are you ready? Let’s go…
“On the second Sabbat of Twelfthmoon, in the city of Weep, a girl fell from the sky. Her skin was blue, her blood was red.”

I know you know this one!

It was very popular a couple of years ago.

Did you guess??

Do you give up?

Okay, here it is…

Did you guess correctly? I read this when it came out, but I never got around to reading the sequel. I have decided that now is the time to do so. But first I have to reread this one, as I only remember a little bit of it.
