I always read way more than what I post as my TBR. I do this for a couple of reasons, but mostly I do this post to help me focus some of my reading. But it also leaves me room for reading what I want without feeling guilty about not reading what I said I would. Hope that makes sense.
Looking at my July TBR post, I missed two books, but that wasn’t my fault entirely. One was an ARC that I requested but did not get. And once again my local public library is really slow getting things processed, so not entirely my fault. I am hoping I have better luck this month, which probably means all of the books I have on hold will show up on the same day.
ARC’s that I need to read:
I have already started The Last Graduate and am enjoying it immensely. The school really has it out for poor El this time.
All These Bodies sounds like such a scary read and I love that cover!
I was surprised that the third Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was coming out already, but I was super excited to see As Good As Dead pop up on my NetGalley feed, and so of course I snatched it up.
I am also really looking forward to reading Once Upon a Broken Heart. Jacks was one of my favorite side characters from the Caraval series so I am looking forward to reading a book about him.
I read and watch a lot of British murder mysteries. There is just something about them that I love and can’t resist. So when Your Guide to not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village came across on my Goodreads feed I knew immediately that I had to have it. Plus it is by Maureen Johnson and it is fairly short and illustrated so I knew I could squeeze it in. So I was glad when I found it available on NetGalley and by one of my auto approved publishers to boot. This will be my next read I am sure.
What else will I read?
Into the Water is one I have started already, and so far I am liking it. Although it is being told from multiple points of view, and most of them in the first person, which makes it a tad confusing at first. But once you get to know the characters you can start focusing on the story which is good so far.
Any Way the Wind Blows is the one book on this list from last month that I didn’t get read. It looks like it will be on its way soon, so hopefully I will get it read this month.
The Serpent Sea is the second book in the Raksura series. It is an enjoyable high fantasy with an amazing world and I am looking forward to seeing what happens to the characters I grew attached to in the first book.
I’m still zipping through audiobooks pretty quickly and I think This Mortal Coil will be next. This is a series I have been interested in for awhile so I hope to get it done soon. And if I like it, quickly followed by the others in the series.
I am pretty excited about all of my books I am planning on reading this month. How about you? What are you excited about reading this month?
I hope you have a great reading month! I can“t wait for Once Upon a Broken Heart and All These Bodies!
