The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finished reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Not much to report this week. I read three good books and one so so book. The big surprise was getting a copy of Never Never this week. The Libby app sent me a message saying I could skip the line if I read it right now (or in 14 days) so of course I said yes. I was something like #60 on the list so about an 8 week wait. Never had that happen before, but I was happy that it did.
What am I currently reading?

Red Team Blues is my next ARC that I need to read. I should be starting it today, and I am really looking forward to it!
Bullet Train is a really good book. It was translated into English from Japanese and there are some passages that seems a little bit clunky, but that often happens with translations. I am still enjoying it though.
And There He kept Her is my next audiobook which I am hoping to start either today or tomorrow.
What have I recently finished reading?

Arrested Adolescence was an interesting read. A little dry at times but so well researched and full of all sorts of information about Leopold and his life.
Something Fishy This Way Comes was ok. I think I won’t be picking up any more mass market cozy mysteries no matter how cute the title or cover is. I just don’t find them challenging enough and the characters are too flat.
The Death of the Necromancer was really good and I really enjoyed it. Different characters and time period from the first book, but I still had the issue of keeping track of so many characters.
Never Never is a novella about time travel. There are three parts to it and I really hope that the second book becomes available at the library soon.
What will I read next?

The Last Word is the next ARC I need to read. It sounds really good and kind of scary! I might need to keep the lights on for this one.
Just One Damned Thing After Another is another time travel book that I picked up on a whim at the library the last time I was there. Hopefully it will be another good one.
The Wizard Hunters is the next book in the Ile-Rien series. I think it is a separate series that takes place in the same world as the other two. Not sure this will be my next audiobook or not, depends on if I am in the mood for another long book.

Well that is it for me this week. I hope that you have had a terrific reading week.
Woah! I’ve never had that happen with Libby before! It would be a really neat feature if they started doing that. Although, make my reading chaotic when I had to drop it all. haha!

I think it might be new. I also noticed when I went to the app to look for a new audiobook that there is now a skip the line filter. When I clicked on it it showed me 5 pretty popular books that I could borrow right now. Not sure how I feel about this. Does it screw people who have been patiently waiting for a book? I don’t know.

Hmm… yeah, that’s what I’m wondering too. I do remember that when I worked at the library, for our own holds, you could do this. The reasoning was that like 100 people have holds but 98 have them frozen. So, if there are like 10 available copies then you could “technically” skip the line. I wonder if this is working the same way because otherwise it would be pretty unfair.

I’ve looked into it a little bit and it looks like my library purchase some extra copies that they are using for this skip the line purpose. It is interesting and I think I will look into some more.

Thanks so much for that info! Such a strange thing but understand they want to be more relevant and stuff. Very interesting indeed!!
