This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. It is now being hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.
It seems that we have totally skipped Spring and went right into Summer this year! The weather has been so fickle this year, with below normal temperatures the last few weeks and now above normal. As much as I like the warm sunny weather, I just wish it would make up its mind.
In celebration of it finally stopping raining and getting warmer, I am continuing to look forward to books coming out this summer. The one that I have chosen for this week’s Goodreads Monday is the next in a series of YA thrillers. It has been a while since the last one, so I am sort of debating about rereading them before tackling this one, but we will see.
One of Us is Back by Karen M. McManus
Publication Date: July 25, 2023
Summary from NetGalley:

The global phenomenon returns with the third book in the One of Us Is Lying series, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen M. McManus. When someone from the Bayview Four’s past resurfaces, history begins to repeat itself—and the consequences are deadly.
The third time’s a charm.
It’s been almost two years since Simon died in detention, and the aftermath has been hard to shake. First the Bayview Four had to prove they weren’t killers. Then a new generation outwitted a vengeful copycat. Now the entire Bayview Crew is back home for the summer, and everyone is trying to move on.
Only, this is Bayview, and life is never that simple.
At first the mysterious billboard seems like a bad joke: Time for a new game, Bayview. But when a member of the Bayview Crew disappears, it’s clear this “game” is serious—and whoever’s in charge isn’t sharing the rules. Or maybe there aren’t any.
Bronwyn. Cooper. Addy. Nate. Maeve. Phoebe. Knox. Luis. Kris. Everyone’s a target. And now that someone unexpected has returned to Bayview, things could start getting deadly.
The thing is, Simon was right about secrets—they all come out eventually. And Bayview has a lot it’s still hiding.
I was able to get and eARC for this one, so I will be reading it next month. I am looking forward to it. I really enjoyed One of Us is Lying and One of Us is Next, so I am hopeful this one will be just as good.
