Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. It was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s topic is:

Do you still enjoy reading children’s books?

(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I am an elementary school librarian so one would hope that my answer would be yes! As part of my job I have to read a lot of picture books, middle grade and early chapter books, as well as children’s non-fiction. For the most part I have enjoyed them all, especially the picture books. I think reading picture books to children will be the one thing I really miss when I retire.

I find that children’s fiction can be just as complex as adult fiction, with wonderful characters that you can get behind and appreciate.

I will probably continue to read children’s fiction, just not as much. I have a few authors whose children’s books I just adore and will probably continue to pick up their books to read. In fact one of my favorite nonfiction authors, just published a new book that I hope to read over the summer. There are also a few series that I have started that I want to finish as well.
