GoodReads Monday

This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. It is now being hosted by Budget Tales Book Blog. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate! In honor of the holiday, I chose a holiday themed book. This is a novella and I am planning on reading it today, when I find a quiet moment. It sounds super cute and I hope it is a fun one. I don’t usually go for holiday romances but I love Paris and I think this one sounds good.

We’ll Never Have Paris by Adriana Anders

Publication Date: September 29, 2023

Summary from Goodreads:

Jules aka “World’s most annoying laugher”
It’s Christmas Eve, one of my last nights in Paris, and I get stuck in a tiny elevator with the insufferable, grumpy Welshman from downstairs. I’m wearing nothing but my skimpy PJs and totally inappropriate spike heels. Oh, and the light’s gone out.
What could possibly go wrong?
Colin aka “Ebenezer McGrumpypants”
She’s the neighbor from hell. Loud, brash, and American, with the body of a pin-up and the laugh of a wild hyena. My only wish is that she’ll move out and be done with Paris forever. Fate, apparently, has other ideas because tonight of all nights, when the city’s shut down and half the population’s gone, who should I get stuck with in what has to be Paris’s tiniest lift? You guessed it. Her.
Only, now that we’ve gotten up close and personal, everything’s changed. Suddenly, the problem isn’t getting rid of her anymore. It’s finding a way to keep her…forever.

Just glancing at some of the reviews it looks like this author packed in a lot of backstory into this novella. I hope it isn’t too instalove, although it sounds like they have been neighbors for awhile, so fingers crossed it is more of a love from afar trope.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Happy Reading!
