WWW Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone. I hope life is treating you well. We have been having some wild weather lately with more to come. We had a brief power outage yesterday, which put me a bit behind my posting, but hopefully I can get caught up today before the really bad weather arrives tomorrow. I managed to read three book and one novella this week, and I enjoyed them for the most part. 

What am I currently reading?

The Tainted Cup is my current ARC that I am reading. I have only just started it as my focus has been on my other book the last couple of days, but so far I am enjoying it.

Dark Water Daughter has been a brilliant read that I have been having a hard time putting down. Not sure where this one is going, but I am definitely along for the ride. 

The Spellman Files is my current audiobook and I am enjoying it. The story is a bit odd and very meandering, but I just love this quirky family of private investigators.

What have I recently finished reading?

The Witchwood Knot was a little disappointing and one that I had a hard time getting into. But I persevered and it eventually got better, but I never felt invested in it or the characters.

The Seven Year Slip was a fun book to read, although I think I liked The Dead Romantics a little bit better. I loved Iwan though, he was such a fun character to get to know.

I’ll Keep You Safe was a great audiobook to pass the time with. This was a great mystery that started off with a car exploding and didn’t let up from there.

The Butcher of the Forest was a very dark, but beautifully written novella that I highly recommend. I will be keeping an eye out for more stories by this author as I really enjoyed her writing style.

What will I read next?

The Bezzle is the next ARC that I need to read. I am looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the first book in this series so I am sure this one will be just as good.

I had to put Shadow Baron off a week, because my current library book was due first. But I hope to pick this one up in the next few days.

Empire of the Vampire will be my next audiobook. I read this way back in 2021 and although I mostly remember what it was about, I thought it would be good to reread it before the next book comes out in February.
