Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

This will be a short post as I don’t have very many books to talk about this week. I had no holds at the library to pick up, so I didn’t make a trip this week to my local branch. With it being basically closed to browsing, there was no reason to go. I did think about going to one of the other branches to browse but I have so many other books sitting on my bedside table waiting for me to read, that I just decided it wouldn’t be a good idea. Maybe next week.

Since my last Stacking the Shelves post I have added some ARCs to my Netgalley account. I have actually added four books, but I just finished one of the audiobooks, so I am including only the three I haven’t read yet.

ARC’s I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Every Time I Go On Vacation Someone Dies is an audiobook I decided to give a chance. It is a debut book and it sounds similar to the Ernest Cunningham books, so hopefully it will be just as good. I do love the cover and the title, and I have been seeing lots of good things about it. I probably won’t have it done by its publication date Tuesday, but I think that is ok.

Long Live Evil is a book I saw in an author’s newsletter, sorry I can’t remember whose, but it looked like a book that I would totally enjoy. I was super happy when my request was approved. It sounds a little bit like Assistant to the Villain or even A Novel Love Story, both of which I really enjoyed. Plus I love that cover!

The Blue Hour is one I just had to read. I really liked Ms Hawkins other books so I am sure this one will be a hit with me as well. As an added bonus it takes place in Scotland, one of my favorite places. The summary doesn’t tell you very much, but it still sounds pretty good.

That is all I have added to my stack this week. Hopefully next week will be a more interesting post. My library doesn’t reopen for a couple more weeks, but I am really hoping to go visit another branch just for fun. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. Every Time I go on Vacation is certainly trying to create the same vibes as the Ernest Cunningham books but I didn’t think it worked as well. I read an eARC so I’m curious to know how the foot notes which really irritated me will be dealt with in an audio book.

    1. Ooh footnotes are always interesting in an audiobook. I’ve seen them done well and not so well, so we shall see with this one. But thanks for the heads up about them. Sometimes they can cause confusion in an audiobook if I am not aware of them.
