My May 2024 TBR

Another month has come and gone, and still I feel so behind on all of my reading! So many books that I want to read, I might just have to live to 100, but even then, I would probably still feel behind. I think the authors just need to give us all a break and stop writing, what do you think? That would give us time to catch up! I’m only joking. I think I just might need to get a little more selective on my books and just stop worrying about it.

My April TBR went pretty well, although I did have to squeeze my final book in the last couple days of the month. I think I have some pretty good books lined up for the month of May, some by authors I love and a few by authors I’m not that familiar with. I just picked up an audiobook ARC that I am including here, although the book is already out, so I included it with my other books. It will be my first audiobook of the month.

ARCs I need to read

Mirrored Heavens is the finale to the Between Earth and Sky trilogy. I still kind of want to reread the first two books, but I am kind of running out of time to do that. Hopefully it will be ok if I don’t get to it.

Service Model is a science fiction book I picked up because of the premise. I have heard of Adrian Tchaikovsky and seen his books around, but have never read any of them. So I decided to give this one a chance.

Foul Days is by an unknown author. I can’t remember what drew me to this book initially, but it sounded interesting and like something I might enjoy. It is based on Slavic folklore and involves witches.

The Hermit Next Door is a novella by a favorite author. Kevin Hearne writes mostly fantasy, but he likes to dip his toe into science fiction every once in awhile. This one looks like a lot of fun. Plus with all of the other long books I’m reading this month, it will be nice to have a short one to read.

Other books I plan to read

Every Time I Go on Vacation , Someone Dies is an audiobook that I just picked up on NetGalley. The book came out this week, so I won’t be able to get it done before its publication day, but that is ok, considering how late I requested it.

The Familiar is the newest book by Leigh Bardugo and I am pretty excited to read it. I have seen a few badish reviews of it, but overall I think it has been well received. I think this will be my next read when I am done with my current one.

City of Bones is a backlist book by this author that I really want to get to this month. I picked it up a few weeks ago from the library but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I started it last night and so far it is a bit confusing, but ok.

What Could Possibly go Wrong is the sixth book in the Chronicles of St Marys series and so far I have enjoyed every one of them. I am looking forward to snuggling up with this one soon.
