Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

This was a slow week as far as adding books to my stack this week. I did actually buy a book though. I visited one of my local indie bookstores and they had the new Sebastien de Castell book available and I decided to buy it. I am kind of tired of waiting for my library to finally get this book, it has been on order forever! I hope to read it this month, but it is longer than I thought it would be and I don’t know if I can squeeze it in, but I’m going to try.

I had one hold come in at the library and I also visited one of the other branches and picked up another. Finally, I have added an audiobook to my Libby app.

Books I have added to my stack

I have been waiting for Play of Shadows to be published for a long time, and I finally have a copy! ( I added it to my Goodreads list way back in 2020!) I am really looking forward to finally picking this one up sometime soon!

A Slow Fire Burning is a backlist book by Paula Hawkins that I have somehow missed, so when I saw it sitting on the shelf at the library I just had to snap it up. I have enjoyed her other books so I am looking forward to reading this one.

I fell in love with the cover for Song of the Six Realms, and decided I needed to read it based only on that. I’m a cover snob, I know. Since first learning about this book, I have seen both good and not so good reviews. Hopefully it will be a good one for me.

Every Last Fear is the next audiobook I plan on listening to. I really enjoyed the author’s newest book, If Something Happens to Me, and decided to check out some of his previous books. This one sounded really interesting. One of the narrators is someone I am familiar with and like, so that’s a good sign.

Not to bad of a haul this week, but I really need to stop adding books to my stack. I need to spend less time looking for books to read and actually start reading the ones I have! Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. I often buy books because of their covers. And, it was nice to see you say that just because a book got some not so good reviews, didn’t mean that you wouldn’t like it. That’s so true. There are so many books with five star reviews that are terrible, in my opinion and others that don’t get good reviews that I think are great.
