January Birthstone: Garnet

I have decided to join in on the fun of finding book covers that match birthstone colors! We are starting off the year with my favorite, mostly because it is my birthstone, the Garnet. These beautiful stones come in many colors but are mostly thought of as a deep red. My favorites are the ones that are kind of a purple red. It was kind of hard to find that particular shade of red, so I just went the easy route and looked for red covers. But it was still hard to narrow it down to just 5 books.

The Ornithologists Field Guide to Love is maybe more purple than red, but it is still a good cover for this prompt. I am currently listening to this one and really enjoying it.

An Instruction in Shadow was perhaps my favorite urban fantasy last year. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Apprentice to the Villain was another favorite of mine and the cover is pretty close to the color of Garnets. This is another one that I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Listen For the Lie is still my favorite audiobook of all times. Also what a great shade of red on the cover!

Crucible of Chaos has probably the truest garnet color here, although this picture doesn’t quite do it justice. The cover in real life is a lot more reddish purple.

That was fun! I am looking forward to doing this again next month as February’s birthstone is Amethyst, which of course is purple, my favorite color. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
