Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Stacking the Shelves. I have added quite a few books to the stack this week. I made it into the library this week and picked up two books, scored three ARCs on Netgalley and added a much anticipated audiobook to my line up.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Hiding in Plain Sight is a middle grade nonfiction book that I recently discovered. It sounds really good. It is about the first woman detective in the US and how she foiled a plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. It is a pretty short read as it is a picture book biography, but I’m sure it will be fascinating.

Loch Ness Uncovered is another middle grade nonfiction book that I came across recently. I have always been fascinated by the Loch Ness monster myths and stories. While I never really believed that they were true there was a small hope in my heart that there was something out there. This has really good reviews, so it should be an interesting read.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

The Blonde Who Came in From the Cold (August 5th) is a romance thriller. It is the second in a series and I just loved the first book, The Blonde Identity, so I am pretty excited to read this one.

Last Chance to Save the World (April 8th) is the third and final book in the Chaotic Orbits series. It is a novella, and I think I will be snuggling up with this one sometime this weekend.

Midnight in Soap Lake (April 15th) is a mystery thriller set in a real small town here in Washington State. I have heard about Soap Lake, it is a very salty lake in the middle of the state, but have never been there. It is by a local author too so I am always wanting to help promote their books. Can’t say that I’m a fan of that cover though.

Audiobooks

Onyx Storm is the book many people have been talking about lately. I am looking forward to listening to the audiobook once again. I listened to the second book and thought the narrators did a good job. I am excited to get to this one as I have heard that the dragons are in this one more than the last one. It’s a long one though, so it might take me awhile to get it done. I haven’t had as much time for listening lately as I would like.

Well that is it for this week’s post. I can’t wait to see what others have added to their stacks. It is always a pleasure and I almost always find at least one book to add to my own ever growing TBR. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
