Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Caturday everyone! I hope your weekend is off to a good start. Mine has been pretty rainy, and we had a doozy of a thunderstorm the other night. That doesn’t happen often here, so it is always a fun time when it does. We also found out that our cat does not like thunder at all!

I didn’t get as much reading done on my trip last week as I hoped I would, but I’m ok with that. It was nice visiting with family and catching up with them. I had a few books on hold waiting for me upon my return and a book I had pre ordered was ready for pick up at one of my favorite indie bookstores. A pretty good haul this week. Plus I added some ARCs that I am pretty excited about.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

Cold Iron Task is the third book in the Unorthodox Chronicles series. I had no idea that it was going to be such a long one either! I have put the audiobook on hold after I picked this one up and I hope it shows up in a few weeks. That way I can switch between the two and hopefully get through it faster.

Shadow of the Eternal Watcher is a book I put on hold awhile ago and I can’t quite remember why or where I heard about it. Anyways it sounds good, a bit of a science fiction thriller with alternate universes.

Go to Hell is my nonfiction pick for April. It sounded interesting and I like all of the pictures that are included. It is a travel guide to all of the places that are somehow related to the underworld.

How To Solve Your Own Murder is another book I have picked up for one of my challenges. I needed a book with an animal on the cover, which I thought would be easy, but nope. This one caught my eye at the library though so hopefully it will be good.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Hemlock & Silver is the newest retelling by T. Kingfisher. It is based on the Snow White fairytale and I am sure she is going to totally make her own . This comes out in August.

Five Found Dead is another mystery thriller by a must read author. This one takes place on the Orient Express and features a mystery writer and his twin sister who are taking the trip of a lifetime. It is a retelling of sorts of the most famous of Agatha Christie’s novels. This comes out in August.

To Clutch a Razor is the second novella in the Curse Bearer series. I read the first book, When Among Crows, last spring and really liked it so decided to give this one a chance. I just might have to reread the first one though, as I don’t remember much except vague feelings of liking this dark urban fantasy. This one comes out in September.

Books I have purchased

Sunrise on the Reaping is of course the newest book in the Hunger Games series. This one is focused on Hamish and his Hunger game that he won. I have heard good things about it and hope to get to it in April.

That’s it for this week post. Lots of good books, so I better get reading! Until next time…

Happy Reading!
