Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

This was a busy week for adding books to my stack. My trip to the library included three books, one that I had on hold and the other two are books that I need to read this month either for a challenge or so that I can read the sequel. I currently have seven books checked out and am feeling behind on getting them all done in a timely manner. I guess I will have to give up sleeping, eating and other things in order to get my reading done!

I am also struggling a bit with the audiobooks. I have way too many of them on hold, eight to be exact, and of course they are all showing up at once. I have deferred one that showed up today for a couple of weeks and I am really hoping that no more will show up for at least a week or hopefully two.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Road Trip has been on my TBR for awhile, but I needed a book with some sort of transportation on the cover for a challenge. I had no idea it was so long though. Hopefully it will be a fast read.

*When Among Crows is a novella and a reread. I wanted to read this one again before reading the sequel which I have the ARC for. I do remember liking it but besides that I don’t remember much.

The Unkillable Frank Lightning is a Frankenstein retelling set in the Old West with a woman doctor resurrecting her dead husband. If that cover is any indication of the level of horror inside, I might be in trouble. But I always love me a good Frankenstein story, so hopefully it won’t be too scary.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

Another week where I have managed not to be tempted to request any more books on Netgalley. Truth be told, I have been a little too busy lately to spend time there looking for books. Hopefully I will get back to that soon.

Audiobooks

Emilie and the Sky World is the second book in the Emilie Adventures. I have the library book for the duology but after finishing the first book, decided to switch to the audiobook. The print is kind of small and was giving me a headache. I hope to be starting this one today.

The Seven Dials Mystery is a book I picked for one of my challenges. Agatha Christie is kind of a hit or miss for me, but this will be the first time I am going to listen to one of her books. Maybe that will make a difference.

Moonleapers is an ARC that I mentioned before in my August TBR post. At that time I didn’t remember that it was an audiobook. So decided I would bring it up here as it is now downloaded on my phone. I am looking forward to listening to this one after I am done with Christie’s book.

The books are beginning to pile up on my bedside table and on my Libby app. I certainly hope I can find the time to read them all. Until next time…

Happy Reading!

  1. It’s typical that library holds all arrive at once. Hopefully no more audio books will arrive for a bit as they take so long to read. Hopefully you enjoy Seven Dials. It’s a very different mystery to her usual ones. Apparently Netflix have done a series of it😳

    1. Another one just arrived this morning!😂 I actually get through audiobooks faster than books as I listen to them as I do chores, hobbies and my daily walk. I wasn’t aware that Netflix has done this one as well. I will have to look for it.

      1. The series has apparently just started filming. I’ve just looked it up and it’s not due to be shown until April 2027 so you’ve got plenty of time to finish the book😀

  2. I love when people use their library! Mine are also always coming in all at the same time 😱. It’s always either a library desert or library tsunami 🤷‍♀️Luckily I mostly get ebooks from the library and they have a “deliver later” function… although they usually end up coming all at once again anyway.

    1. I like that, library tsunami! 😂 No matter how I try to spread them out, they always show up at the same time. That deliver later function is also a bit of a curse. So hard to predict when I will be ready for it.
