Well I am glad that August is over, at least as far as my reading goes. I will never again have eights ARCs for one month. The pressure was awful. But I did get them all done, and all but the last one reviewed. I hope to have the last review up early next week. This month I’m back to a more sane ARC list with only four. All of these are ones that I am looking forward to. I have also picked out four other books that I want to read this month. One of them is sort of dependent on how quickly my library processes the book, as it just comes out on 9/2. I think it will be a great month with lots of good books to read.
ARCs I need to read

Red City is by an autoread author and I am really looking forward to reading this one. It is a contemporary fantasy set in an alternative Los Angeles. Sounds exciting!
A Curious Kind of Magic is a cozy fantasy about a girl who turns everything she touches into magic and a magic shop owner who wants her help saving her shop. Sounds like a good one.
Redneck Revenant is the next book in the *Adam Binder series. I really enjoy this urban fantasy series and look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Everlasting is by an author who is quickly becoming a favorite one. I am looking forward to reading this historical fantasy loosely based on the Author legends. Plus I think there is time travel involved? Not sure exactly what it’s about, but I’m am positive it will be good.
Other books I plan to read

A Walk in the Woods is a book that I have wanted to read for a really long time. So why pick it up now? Well I need a memoir for my nonfiction challenge, but I’m not of fan of those. Also I once thought about walking the Appalachian Trail, back when I was young and crazy. So no time like the present to pick this one up.
Wild Reverence is a book I have been looking forward to since I read *The Letters of Enchantment last year. I did not realize it was over 500 pages though. Hopefully it will be a fast read.
Nightshade is a book that I picked up last week on a whim. It is set on Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles, which I love visiting. I don’t think I have ever read a book by this author, but I love the TV adaptations of his books. This is a police procedural murder mystery on a small island that has very little crime. It is also the start of a new series.
I meant to read *The Malevolent Seven this month in anticipation of the next book in the series which came out this week, but alas I ran out of time. So I hope to get to this one if not the new one this month.

I am so looking forward to reading all of these. It is kind of heavy on the fantasy side, but depending on what shows up from my library holds list it could eventually even out to something more diverse. Looking forward to seeing what others are reading in September. I always manage to find a book or two from other people’s lists to add to my own. Until next time…
Red City is on my list to read int he next couple of weeks too so I hope we both enjoy it.
I definitely hear you with the ARC overload. I ended up with 9 for July and it was a bit manic. Hopefully that won’t happen again but it does depend on when those books that I ‘really have to read’ come out😃

You would think the publishers would take that into consideration and space out those popular authors! 🤣 I hope you enjoy Red City.
