Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Another quiet week, which is fine, as once again I still have books from previous weeks that I haven’t read yet. But that is ok. I will eventually. This week I have added three books, one from the library and two ARCs. One of the ARCs I received from the author, which I am really excited about. So excited I have already started it! The other one doesn’t come out until next year, so it will be a few weeks till I get to it, but it is one I am looking forward to reading.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

I pass by my local library everyday on my walk, but I don’t usually stop, unless I have a book to pick up in holds. As I was walking one day this week, I started thinking about all of the fantasy books sitting on my book stack and I thought it would be nice to have different genre to break all of that up, so I decided to stop at the library and take a quick look at the new release display. I found Coram House, a mystery thriller that is inspired by a true story and was intrigued. So I thought I would give it a chance.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I was super excited to get an ARC for A Draught for a Dragon this week from the author. This is the last book in the Side Quest Row series which comes out in October, but it will be a quick read over the weekend. I have already started this one and am really enjoying it.

A Ghastly Catastrophe is the tenth book in the Veronica Speedwell series and I am so excited that my request was approved. I just love Veronica and Stoker and their stories are well written and hard to solve. These are historical mysteries with a romance that was a very slow burn to start (I think it took three books for them to finally admit their feelings!) Each book is just as good as the last one. This one has a supernatural twist to it, with possibly a vampire? I can’t wait to find out.

Audiobooks

I haven’t added any audiobooks this week, although I do have one that is ‘coming soon’ which could mean today!

That is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves post. I have a lot of holds coming in next week, as I have four books ‘in transit’, which means they are on their way to my branch. I had better start reading faster if I want to keep up! Hope your weekend is going well. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
