Happy Wednesday and New Year’s Eve! I hope your day is going well and that you are having a fun and safe last day of the year. I have had a pretty good reading week, except for my audiobook which I have temporarily put on hold.

What am I currently reading?

What Stalks the Deep is the third novella in the Sworn Soldier series. I am more than half way through and will probably finish it today. So far it is very good.

🎧 Kiss Her Goodbye is the fourth book in the Frankie Elkin Series. This one is really good, and funny too! At least the part where she is pet sitting. The rest is dark and sad. This is another one that I am close to finishing and will probably be done today.

🎧 The Outcast Mage isn’t really a current read, but one that I have put on hold. I was listening to the audiobook, but either I wasn’t in the right frame of mind for it, or perhaps the reader just wasn’t working for me, but I kept getting lost in the narrative. I plan on picking up a copy of the book and giving that a try sometime in January. But I might give the audiobook another go too.

What have I recently finished reading?

A Case of Life and Limb was really good. It was fun, but not really a Christmas story. The mystery was well done, although I did have most of it figured out before the big reveal. I enjoyed the way it was done though. So looking forward to the next one.

Constituent Service was a fun short novella by one of my favorite authors. It was pretty funny and I loved all of the different species of aliens.

The Brides of High Hill was good. I did enjoy it but I think I might have liked it better if I had read the other books in the series first.

🎧When Christmas Comes is the first in a series of mystery/thrillers with an ex-spy as the detective. I really enjoyed it and have already picked up the next one in the series.

Kills Well With Others was also a fun read. I think I liked this one better than the first one, but I still like this author’s other series better.
