Happy New Year once again. It is time to take a look back at all of the statistics about not just my reading but my blogging as well. It was a good year overall, lots of good books, many reviews and interactions on my blog, and I even gained a few more followers. But first let’s talk about the books! Some of these graphics are from Goodreads, others are from Storygraph.
How Many Books Did I read this year?

Since I started using Goodreads in 2017 I averaged between 180 to 200 books a year. On average I finish 3 books a week, usually an ARC, a library book and an audiobook. According to both Goodreads and Storygraph my average book length is 335 pages. Which kind of tracks. I do tend to like the shorter books rather than the tombs.
Here is another cool graphic from Goodreads that shows my reading for each month.

Shortest and Longest books this year.

The Art of Legend was a whopping 656 pages and The Brides of High Hill was only 116 pages.
What Genres Did I Read the Most?

I was only a little bit surprised by this one, as I felt like I read more mysteries than fantasy this year, but probably some of the fantasies were also mysteries.
Some Other Interesting Things I kept track of.
Audiobooks: I listened to 70 books this year, which might be a record.
ARCs: I read and reviewed 58 ARCs.
I also read: 6 debut books, 6 middle grade books and 13 Nonfiction books
How did I rate books?

This graphic is from Storygraph. I like that I can rate a book more accurately there than on Goodreads. My average rating was 4.04, and only 12 books were 5 stars.

Blogging Stats
When I started my blog I was a bit obsessed with my stats. Seven years later I barely look at them. But I hit a couple of milestones in 2025 and I thought I would share them.

A few months ago, I posted my 2,000 post. Which may not seem like much for seven years, but for the first five of those I was still working full time and I was lucky to get more than four a week done. Now I pretty much consistently post six days a week. My likes really increased this year as well.
My favorite stat to look at is the locations of all my visitors. I don’t put a lot of stock into the China and India stats as many of those are probably bots, but I do enjoy seeing other countries on the list.

I also gained a fair number of followers this year. Thank you to the 37 new subscribers, I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog. My total number of subscribers is now 825. I know not all of you check in everyday, but it warms my heart that you liked my blog enough to follow me.

So 2025 is now officially in the books. 2026 seems to be off to a good start. Thank you all for supporting my blog and please keep those comments coming. I really enjoy interacting with fellow readers. Until next time…
It’s always fun to look at statistics and see what you’ve been reading. Our top two genres are both the same and we have 5 star reads in common too.
Let’s hope we both have a great year of reading in 2026.

China and India are also in my top five of countries my visitors are from. I don’t trust China, but India is a country I know many book bloggers are from. So that’s making more sense than China.

Ok, I didn’t know that about India. I’ve just noticed that on those days my views spiked, India is usually one of the top countries. But your claim is valid. I’ll keep an open mind about India in the future.

It can be a mixture of both though, because yes, there used to be a lot of Indian book bloggers, and there are still some of them active. But on the other hand, there might also be bots amongst these viewers. So it’s a bit of both I think. But yeah, maybe you are right and they are mainly bots instead of real human beings. We will never know unfortunately.
