Spell the Month in Books is a pretty straightforward meme. Find book titles that start with each letter in the month’s name, make a list, share your list, and that’s it! There are optional challenge themes for the months. I found this tag over on Reviews from the Stack.
This month’s theme: Freebie
As it is February I decided to do romantasies for Valentine’s day. I really had to search for one of the letters and finally found one from way back in the early 2000’s. It’s not exactly a romantasy, but it sounds interesting and it was close enough. I might just have to give that one a try. This is mostly new books coming out and then two are ones I read previously and loved. All titles are linked to their Goodread page.
F – Fellowship of Bakers and Magic, A
E – Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy, The
B – Better in Black
U – Undertaking of Hart and Mercy, The
A – Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter
R – Rider of Dragons
Y – You Slay Me

These covers are just so pretty I had to include them. A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic is a book that has been on my radar and I have heard good things about. I am really looking forward to reading The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy. I loved the first book so I am hoping this one will be just as good. Better in Black is a collection of short stories featuring all of our Shadowhunter favorite couples. A Rival Most Vial was such a sweet and cozy romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy was also a very sweet romance that I adored. Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter has been high on my list for most anticipated read of 2026. I am hearing good things about it, so hopefully it won’t disappoint. Rider of Dragons is a book that doesn’t come out till the summer, but I have been hearing some good things about it. You Slay Me is sort of the odd man out here. It is an older urban fantasy, but with a romance too. It sounds adorable anyways so I just might have to give it a chance. Especially because there are dragons too.

That is the month in books for February. I hope you enjoyed it, and maybe found a book or two to add to your TBR. You are welcome to join in on the fun anytime. Also, if any of you know a more recent romantasy that starts with the letter Y let me know. I might need it for a future Month in Books post. Until next time…
