Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! And audiobooks. Don’t forget audiobooks!

In other words, if you can read it or if it can be read to you – no matter how you got it – it belongs in Stacking the Shelves.

The Stacking the Shelves meme was originally hosted at Team Tynga’s Reviews. It is currently hosted by Reading Reality.

Happy Saturday! I hope that your weekend is going well. Mine has been a busy one, but I still made time to stop by the library for my weekly visit. I have added three books to my stack, one of each. I really didn’t want to add another ARC to my stack, but I just couldn’t resist this one. The other two books are ones I need to read for my challenges. I am very close to finishing the 52 Book Club’s 2026 Challenge. I will have six left to complete once I am done with the book listed here. I hope to finish the challenge by the end of the summer.

Library books I have added to my bedside stack

The Devil and Mrs Gooch is a book I chose for one of the 54 Book Club Challenge prompts. I needed a book that was inspired by the top grossing movie the year I was born. For me that movie was 101 Dalmations. In this story hobs are being kidnapped for nefarious reasons. This is actually the second book in Household Gramarye series, but I think it can be read as a standalone. I hope so anyways. If I like it, I can always go back to the start and read book one.

ARCs I’ve added to my Netgalley account

I really didn’t want to add any more ARCs to my already long list, especially one that comes out in September. (Why are all of the good books coming out in September and October?) But The Henchperson’s Guide to Unionizing caught my eye and I just couldn’t resist. It hasn’t received a lot of reviews yet, but the few I saw were pretty positive for the most part. I’m hoping it will be a fun read. It sounds similar to Hench and to the Assistant to the Villain series, both are stories that I have enjoyed.

Audiobooks

The Dentist is another challenge book, I needed a book with an occupation in the title. I have heard really good things about this series so I have pretty high hopes it will be a good police procedural mystery. I also have this in print form as they both showed up at the same time. I might switch back and forth between the two, but the bulk of the story will probably be listened to. I have more time to listen to books than sitting and reading them lately. This is for the Buzzword Reading Challenge.

Well that is it for this week’s Stacking the Shelves. Looking forward to seeing what others have added to their stacks this week. Until next time…

Happy Reading!
