A review of the new stand alone novel by Edward Ashton. Fourth Consort is a thought provoking first contact story about a human stranded on an alien world and trying to survive in a culture very different from our own.

A review for the delightfully funny historical romance that is also a light fantasy, The Ornithologists Field Guide to Love. I loved the characters and the romance was great. I also enjoyed the writing and the narrator was perfect. This was the perfect story to spend time with on a cold and dreary winter’s day.
A review for the audiobook version of Ruth Ware’s One Perfect Couple. This survival thriller is set on a remote island in the Indian Ocean when a reality TV show goes horribly wrong after a storm. The audiobook narrator does a solid job bringing the story and the characters to life.
A review for the third book in the Ben Packard series. This is a crime thriller/mystery series with a sheriff in a small midwestern town. Ben is a great detective that cares about his job and the people he knows. This book has three stories that intertwine to make a twisty thriller that will keep you reading until the gut wrenching end.
A weekly post in which I pick a book off of my GoodReads want to read list and talk about it.
I had a very busy week reading some holiday books. It really put me in the mood for the holidays. This post is three short reviews for some great books. I highly recommend all of them but especially The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year. It was a blast and I really enjoyed the romance and the mystery.
