Three very short reviews of three middle grade books that I read in the last couple of weeks. Two are fiction and one is nonfiction. The First State of Being is wonderful historical science fiction story about Y2K. The Bletchley Riddle is set during WWII and it is about two siblings searching for their mother. Loch Ness Uncovered is about the Loch Ness Monster and how the story began and the evidence of the hoaxes that have perpetuated over the years.
Two audiobook reviews for you today. One fantasy and one mystery, very different from each other. Faebound by Saara El-Arifi was a very interesting story about fae and elves. The narrator didn’t quite work for me, but I enjoyed the story. Death Under a Little Sky by Stig Abell was a slow moving mystery that was also a really good listen.
I had a very busy week reading some holiday books. It really put me in the mood for the holidays. This post is three short reviews for some great books. I highly recommend all of them but especially The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year. It was a blast and I really enjoyed the romance and the mystery.
Hello, hello! Today I am bringing you two short reviews for two fantasy books I read this week. The first one is the sequel to the Runestone Saga series by one of my favorite authors. The second is a middle grade fantasy about a young boys adventure in a magical world adjacent to ours where he meets all kinds of wonderful creatures and an intriguing girl who can fly. Happy Friday! Today I am bringing you two short reviews for books I finished recently. Virtually Dead (2010) by Peter May is a mystery that is set inside a virtual game, Second Life. The Lightning Bottles (2024)by Marissa Stapley is also a bit of a mystery, but is set in the 90’s rock scene.
