I’ve been in a little bit of a blogging slump. I have been having trouble getting my thoughts together on the books I’ve read to write my reviews. Unfortunately I have been reading up a storm, so now I am way behind with the reviews. Sometimes doing a Tag helps me get out of these slumps, so when I saw this one on Thrice Read this morning I decided to give it a try. Eden originally saw it on Book Lover Kate‘s blog. Check both of them out for their answers. We all came up with different answers for most of them.
The rules are pretty simple:
You must answer these questions without looking anything up on the internet and without looking at your bookshelves!!
A couple of them threw me for awhile, I had to think really hard to come up with an answer. I will be honest that I did fact check to make sure the titles and author’s names were spelled correctly after I came up with the answers and I was correct on all but one of them, right author, wrong title. Some of these are middle grade books and authors, since that is my job it is easier to remember those authors and titles.
1. Name a book written by an author called Michael
Michael Buckley
He wrote the middle grade series The Sister’s Grim and N.E.R.D.S. but also is the author of the YA Undertow Series.
2. Name a book with a dragon on the cover.
Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman
You have to look close to see that it is a dragon though.
3. Name a book about a character called George.
George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl.
The only George I could come up with for the longest time was George Weasley which wasn’t right, but finally this one popped into my head.
4. Name a book written by an author with the surname Smith.
This is the one I messed up on, my original thought was The Haters by Andrew Smith, but that book is by Jesse Andrews. Then I remembered that Andrew Smith wrote Grasshopper Jungle, so I got there in the end. I’m always getting those two authors books mixed up.
5. Name a book set in Australia.
Toad Rage by Morris Gleitzman
This is a little known middle grade book about toads in Australia. They go to the Olympics, but that is all I remember about it. It was pretty funny though.
6. Name a book with the name of a month in the title.
Our Only May Amelia by Jennifer Holm
This was the first one that popped into my head. I tried to come up with one with my birthday month in it, but no luck.
7. Name a book with a knife on the cover.
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness.
Do I get double points for coming up with one that is both title and picture?
8. Name a book with the word ‘one’ in the title.
One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
My brain stopped after One Dark….. It took forever to get throne.
9. Name a book with a eponymous title.
To be honest I had to look up what eponymous meant. Then I had to think really hard for a title. I just kept drawing a blank, but then in the sudden death moments I came up with
Denton Little’s Death Date by Lance Rubin
10. Name a book turned into a movie.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.
I have been wanting to see this so this was probably the easiest one.
