Goodreads Monday

This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners. To participate, choose a random book from your GoodReads TBR and show it off. Which sounds easy enough until you have to decide how to choose that book! I think I will use a different way each week, like picking a color or number of pages. I will let you know each week how I chose the book and then something interesting about it, like how it ended up on the list or why I want to read it. Got it? Okay let’s get started.

I am kind of doing a theme this week, Middle Grade reads, so technically this isn’t on my Goodreads list, as I keep a separate list for me work reads. But it is still on my TBR so I am counting it.

Never and Forever by Cressida Cowell

The Wizards of Once #4

Publication Date: November 17, 2020

Summary from NetGalley:

Xar and Wish are on the final leg of their journey–first stop: The Mine of Happiness. Here, starvation is never far away for the Magical creatures who toil in its horrible depths. Xar and Wish must escape and fast; Xar needs to take control of his ever-growing Witchstain, and Wish must achieve her Destiny. But the Tazzelwurm is in their way, a grotesque monster who threatens to block every entrance.

Time is not on their side, but the forests are calling them. Will their combined strength be enough for the biggest quest so far: to defeat the Kingwitch once and for all?

I listened to the audiobooks of the first three books this summer and they were awesome. David Tennant is the narrator and he is the best. He has some great voices for all of the characters and sings when needed and there are sound effects! Totally recommend the audiobooks. The books are fun too, as they have lots of illustrations, so you can’t really go wrong with either. I am reading this last book, as my public library has been a bit slow on getting the audiobook, and I want to read it before the end of the year.
