An along comes pretty little May… one of my favorite months. Flowers and trees are blooming and everything looks so bright and wonderful! I love the longer days and hopefully they will continue to be warmer. Of course May means that the school year is coming to a close, which means things get a bit busier for me, but hopefully I will continue to find lots of time for reading.
Let’s first take a look back at my April TBR and see how I did. I read 8/9 of the books I had planned. The unread one wasn’t my fault. It didn’t come from the library before the month was done. Hopefully it will show up soon.
Not super sure what I want to read this month, but I do have a few that I know I will be getting my hands on soon.
June ARC’s that I need to read this month:
June 8th June 15th June 15th June 29th
This month’s ARC are ones that I am really looking forward too. Three of them are by favorite authors, and the fourth looks like a lighthearted romance that will offset the other three nicely.
Donuts and Other Proclamations of Love looks like it will be a funny, lighthearted take on the enemies to lovers troupe. Plus how can I resist a book with a food truck as part of the story!
I loved No Exit by Taylor Adams last year and was super excited to get my hands on Hairpin Bridge. It sounds super good and full of all sorts of twists and turns.
And of course I can never turn up a book by Maureen Johnson. The Truly Devious books were a favorite from the start and I am glad that we get to continue with these characters in a new setting. The Box in the Woods is the start of a new mystery for Stevie Bell and friends to solve.
That Weekend is another creepy thriller that I am really looking forward too. I have so far loved this author’s books so I have high hopes for another winner.
Other books I am hoping to read:
This Mortal Coil is an audiobook that I have had on my TBR for a while and I am looking forward to starting this science fiction story soon. I have been listening to a lot of fantasy lately so this will be a nice change.
Cemetery Boys got a lot of hype last fall and from what I can tell it was well deserved. I am really looking forward to getting around to reading this.
Defekt is the novella that didn’t come from the library that was on my TBR list from last month. I am hoping that it comes in a week or so. I really liked the first one am looking forward to this sequel.
Slough House is the newest book from this series. I am really looking forward to this one especially with the way things ended in Joe Country. I am not sure if there will be more in the series, but this sort of feels like it might be coming to an end with this book.

I think that is a nice selection of books. Although I will probably read more than 8 books in May, this is just the list of the ones I know I will be reading. I’m not sure what else I will be in the mood for but this list will at least get me started.
What are you planning on reading in May?
I’m hoping to make a big chunk in my arcs and to finish up some books that I started a while back.
