WWW Wednesday

It has been an interesting week. And this morning I woke up to snow on the ground. Not much, less than an inch, but not expected either. I got my usual three books read this week, but a couple of them were a bit of a struggle, which made the reading less pleasurable. But I am past those and onto some hopefully better books.

What am I currently reading?

I have only just started A Great and Terrible Beauty and Daughter of the Deep so don’t have much to say about either of them. So far though I am expecting them to be good solid reads.

Black Sun is a reread and my current audiobook. I am enjoying it, but I find it a little bit boring at times. I think that might just be that I have read it before and remembering parts as I go along. But still overall I am liking it just as much as the first time around.

What have I finished reading?

A Spoonful of Murder wasn’t exactly the cozy mystery I was hoping it would be. There were some heavy themes throughout and I found the three main characters hard to tell apart. But there were still some good parts.

Bloodlines was also not quite what I was expecting. It was good, but really slow moving and more of a science fiction story with magical elements than an urban fantasy.

A Fine Summer’s Day was the bright spot of my week. I loved seeing Ian before he went to war, although I would have liked a bit more of Hamish in the story. It was also a different reader which was ok, but I was missing the old one a bit.

What will I read next?

Fevered Star will be the next ARC that I need to read. I am looking forward to seeing how this story progresses.

Court will be the next book I tackle. I have heard that there are some loose ends in this one, so I am kind of tempted not to start it until we are closer to the next book coming out, but I have to know how Flint is doing after his tragedy in the last book. Hopefully even though this is a long one, it will read quickly like the others did.

Ghost Story will hopefully be my next audiobook, but it might not be. I am still a few weeks out on my hold coming through, but I will keep my fingers crossed it will come sooner rather than later.

I can’t quite believe how quickly February is coming to a close. It felt like spring only last week, and then bam snow this morning. I had been thinking of changing the look of the blog to my spring one, but perhaps I will wait a bit more. I am hoping that March will be a bit better reading wise.
