WWW Wednesday

Well the first week of April has been a doozy. We have gone from warm spring like weather to cold winter and back again. My poor plants don’t know what to think! Plus, this crazy weather makes it hard to know what to wear! It is a good thing I usually wear layers, but even that fails me sometimes.

It was a pretty good reading week. A couple of the books were a little slow to start, but eventually picked up and were quite good. Let’s take a look!

What am I currently reading?

Bad Actors is the eighth book in the Slough House series and so far is just as good as the others.

A Snake Falls to Earth is a middle/YA book that won a Newbery Honor this year. I have only just started it so don’t have much to say yet.

What Abigail Did That Summer is my current audiobook and I am enjoying it. It is a Rivers of London novella and is about the youngest wizard Abigail and the talking foxes!

What have I recently finished reading?

Book of Night started off a bit slow and shaky but ended strong! If you are a Holly Black fan this is one you don’t want to miss. Not sure if it is a series or not, but things were left dangling at the end that seems to indicate there will at least be another one.

We Could Be Heroes was really good. It is such a different superhero story and I loved that the hero and the villain worked together and both became heroes in the end.

Ghost Story was of course awesome! I loved that we learned a lot more about Harry’s past through his memories. The mystery of who killed him was also a good one, with lots of false leads and missed clues. The ending wasn’t a complete surprise though.

What will I read next?

Family of Liars is the next ARC I need to read for May. I am looking forward to this prequel to We Were Liars.

Arya Winters and the Tiramisu of Death is a recent find and I am looking forward to diving into this cozy mystery.

Cold Days will be my next audiobook, I am almost positive as I am very close to getting it from the library. I am looking forward to seeing how Harry gets out of his commitment to the Winter Queen.
