School started for me last week, so I am still sticking to my theme of schools and libraries for my pick this week. This week’s pick not only has the school setting but is a murder mystery as well.
The Good Girls by Claire Eliza Bartlett
Publication Date: December 1, 2020
Summary from Goodreads:
The troublemaker. The overachiever. The cheer captain. The dead girl.

Like every high school in America, Jefferson-Lorne High contains all of the above.
After the shocking murder of senior Emma Baines, three of her classmates are at the top of the suspect list: Claude, the notorious partier; Avery, the head cheerleader; and Gwen, the would-be valedictorian.
Everyone has a label, whether they like it or not–and Emma was always known as a good girl. But appearances are never what they seem. And the truth behind what really happened to Emma may just be lying in plain sight. As long-buried secrets come to light, the clock is ticking to find Emma’s killer–before another good girl goes down.
If I remember correctly this was one of the books I was really looking forward to reading at the end of 2020, but I can’t remember why I never did. It just sort of fell off my radar. But now that it is back one I will have to see about getting it read soon. The rating on GoodReads is not super high, but a respectable 3.71. It mostly receives 4 stars, but a quick glance at the reviews kind of tells me that people either hate it or love it. Well I will just have to see for myself, won’t I?
Sounds like an interesting read. I don’t read many books in this sort of setting. I hope you enjoy it when you get to read it!
Have a great week!
