The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. IT was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s topic is:
Do you use other sources for ARCs besides NetGalley? (submitted by Bonnie @ Bonnie Reads and Writes)
Back before the pandemic I used to go to library conferences at least once a year. But alas, I haven’t been to one since 2019. I loved going to conferences and meeting with authors and talking to publishers about their upcoming books. And of course all of the free books were wonderful too. And not just ARC’s! You could sometimes score new releases as well. Gosh I miss those days.
I also used to use Edelweiss, but I found their website to be to cumbersome, and I wasn’t getting approved for their ARCs as much as on NetGalley, so I kind of have given up on using them. I have also had a few authors and publishers approach me directly, which is always fun and an honor, but nothing recent.
I mostly rely on NetGalley to provide my ARC needs these days. Their website is easy to use, and I have auto approval from a wide variety of publishers. So, I am pretty happy with just using them these days.
I agree Edelweiss is cumbersome, Netgalley makes it easy and provides plenty to keep me busy
Wishing you a great week of reading.
