Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. It was relaunched on February 15, 2013 by Billy@Coffee Addicted Writer. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s topic is:

Are you reading more e-books lately?

(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

Not sure what you mean by lately, but I don’t think my answer would change regardless of meaning. I mostly only read e-ARCs, and for the last few years I have averaged around four of those in a month. I occasionally read more ARCs than four, but that is pretty rare.

There have been a few times lately when a book I want to read is only available as an ebook through my library, or the holds are less on the ebook than the physical one, so I will squeeze that one in between ARCs. But I do try to avoid that. It is not that I don’t enjoy reading ebooks, I just prefer to keep that option open for the ARCs. It helps me keep up with getting them read and reviews getting done in time before the book is published.

I rarely purchase ebooks, mostly because I find that unless I start it the day I buy it, I forget about it and it just sits there on my account unread. I currently have 5 or 6 sitting there unread, a couple I don’t even remember purchasing. Maybe I will work on getting those done over the next few months.

This might all change when I retire next month. I am assuming that I will have a lot more time on my hands and will read a bit more than I do now. Although I will try really hard not to read all the time, but make room for other things in my life.

Happy Reading!
