My June 2023 TBR

June has always been a bit of a stressful month for me. I usually have so much to do before closing up the library for the summer, and I always feel like I won’t get it done in time. I haven’t decided yet if this year will be worse or better because I am retiring. I kind of feel some pressure to get it all done, so that I don’t leave things undone for whoever takes over, but I also don’t want to feel too stressed out over it either. With all that in mind I hope that I can keep up with my reading and blogging.

Looking back a little bit on May, I was able to read all eight books that I intended to read, plus a whole lot more. The majority of them were great, with a couple not so great ones. I am way ahead of schedule on my GoodReads challenge, which is good if I end up not getting as much reading done in June.

I only have three ARCs to read in June. I just couldn’t find a fourth one that interested me enough to request it. But I am ok with that. I have an ebook from the library coming at the end of May that will be a filler before I start on the ARCs. Most of my other books will be rereads this month, but I have some new books planned as well.

ARCs I need to read this month.

To Have and To Heist sounds like such a fun read and I really like the James Bond feel to the cover. I have seen a few good reviews, so hopefully it will be a good one.

One of Us is Back is the third book in this series. It has been so long since I read the first two that I will be reading them again before diving into this one.

I am so excited for House of Roots and Ruin. The first book, House of Salt and Sorrow is one of my favorite books of the last few years. I can’t wait to get back to this world.

Other books I plan on reading in June

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches is a book that I have been looking forward to reading for awhile. I have seen some good reviews and I am really looking forward to finally picking it up.

Greymist Fair is another one that I have been looking forward to reading since it came out. I just love that cover, and I hope it turns out to be as spooky inside as out.

The Sea Detective is the only non-fantasy in this part of my list. It is a detective story, but the ‘detective’ is an oceanographer who keeps finding body parts on the beach. Sounds gruesome but good.

Paladin’s Strength is the second in this series and even though I know it is about two different characters than the first book, I can’t wait to read it. This one is about Istvhan who was my favorite secondary character in the first book.

These of course are only the books that I am pretty sure I will be reading this month. I also plan on rereading The House of Sorrow and Salt, and One of Us is Next. I also have Cherish coming on audiobook from the library which I am pretty sure will be my first audiobook of the month. I’m not sure what else I will listen to this month. I think my audiobook choices will be dependent on my mood and time constraints.

I hope you are all having a marvelous reading week and until next time….

Happy Reading!
