WWW Wednesday

This has been a great week for reading. I somehow managed to read 5 books even with all of the other stuff I’ve been doing. I know I mentioned last week that I really wanted to slow down a bit on the reading, but I had an issue where one of the library books I had was due back on Saturday and I couldn’t renew it because of the waitlist. So I ended up reading it in two days. Luckily it was short and a quick read. Also, one of the books was a novella that only took me a couple of hours to read. I will try to do better this week.

What am I currently reading?

Where the Dead Sleep is my current ARC that I am reading. I am finding this one really hard to put down. It is a very compelling mystery with some great characters. It will be interesting to see how it ends.

Hestia Strikes a Match is my current library read, and it really isn’t working for me. I’m about a third of the way through and I am considering not finishing it. I’m finding it a tad boring, but I am going to give it just a bit more to see if it turns around soon.

The Blackhouse is my current audiobook. This is another one that I am having a hard time putting down. It is a really good story with a great setting. I am glad that I am listening to it though as there is a lot of Gaelic, so it is nice to hear how it is supposed to be pronounced.

What have I recently finished reading?

Mister Magic was kind of weird and I am still not sure what happened at the end, but it was good.

Crash from Outer Space is a nonfiction middle grade book that did an excellent job of explaining what really happened in Roswell in the 40’s.

Secretly Yours was okay. I liked the characters and there was some pretty steamy sex, but the overall plot and the author’s writing style just wasn’t for me.

Thornhedge was an excellent retelling of Sleeping Beauty. I should have my review up in tomorrow.

Fairy Tale was excellent and such a good story. It is rather long, but the story is so good it doesn’t really feel like it. This review should be up in the next few days.

What will I read next?

Her Radiant Curse is the next ARC I need to tackle. So far I have liked this author’s books so I am confident that this one will be good. It is a long one though.

Coffin Road is a mystery thriller set in Scotland. I am really looking forward to starting this one.

A Darker Shade of Magic will be my next audiobook. I am rereading this one in anticipation of the next book set in this world coming out in September. I am also going to be watching Ms Schwab’s read along on her youtube channel.
