My September 2023 TBR

September is always a great month here in the Pacific Northwest and often a busy one for me. Usually it is the beginning of the school year and I am getting the library ready and writing lesson plans. Not this year though. But I am ending up being just as busy with family coming to visit and taking a short trip to the Oregon coast. Hopefully I will be able to keep up on all of my reading. I have lots of good books lined up and I am excited to get started on them.

ARCs I need to read

Night of the Witch is a YA fantasy with an enemies to lovers romance. It is the first book in a new series by these two awesome authors. I have enjoyed books by both these ladies so I am sure I will enjoy this one as well.

A Stroke of the Pen is a collection of short stories by Terry Pratchett. I am so looking forward to reading this one. They are not set in the Discworld but I am ok with that.

Long Past Dues is the second book in an urban fantasy series. I read the first book, Dead Man’s Hand and quite enjoyed it. I am hoping this one will be just as good.

An Inheritance of Magic is a book I requested because of that cover, I just love it. The summary kind of cinched it though. It sounds like a really fun urban fantasy.

Two Twisted Crowns is another sequel to a YA fantasy romance series. I enjoyed the first book, One Dark Window, this spring, so I am looking forward to reading this one.

Other books I plan to read

I have about 12 books currently checked out of the library, and I hope to get them all read this month, but things happen, so maybe not. Of those 12 these were the 5 that I really want to read, so these are the ones that made the list.

Chasing the Darkness has such a good vibe to it from that cover. I hope the inside lives up to it. It is also fairly short and hopefully full of action.

Gallows Court is the first book in a historical mystery series. It takes place in London in the thirties and has a female amateur sleuth as the main character. Could be interesting.

How Can I Help You caught my attention with that cover. A burning library due date card certainly makes you want to find out what this book is all about. It is another short mystery thriller that involves a librarian with a bad past.

The Hundred Loves of Juliet has been getting a lot of attention lately and hopefully it is deserved. I have read and liked other books by this author and hope this one will be as good.

Painted Devils has finally arrived and I am so glad to finally have it in my hands. This might be the one I pick up first, but we shall see. I can’t wait to get back to this world and these fun characters.

September is going to be a very busy reading month, but I think I have collected a good group of books to keep me entertained. I hope you all are enjoying your reading and have some good books lined up for the month. Until next time….

Happy Reading!
